Princess Zelda is among the most prominent anime characters in The Legend of Zelda video games despite the fact she is not the hero. There is a lot more to Zelda, descending from Skyward sword's original theme, that you might be expecting. Here are ten fun facts to prove it.

Zelda: Not one person

Zelda is not simply one person rather the title is shared by all. Throughout the games, Zelda has come forward as a different person. Yet all of them are royals descended from Skyward Sword’s original Zelda who is the temporal personification of the divinity Hylia. In most times, she is blonde but has also been seen as a brunette and a redhead. Also, Link is always a different Link in various sequences.

She Doesn’t Always Need to Be Rescued

There Are Multiple Embodiments of Zelda

The name Zelda is usually passed down from one generation to another among the female members of the Royal Family of Hyrule. Unlike Link, who is believed to be a different superhero, every Princess Zelda is connected through the Royal Family bloodline. You will commonly find three foremost timelines in the Legend series including kid link, mature link, and fallen link. These timelines have a sequence of events in the game demonstrating a wide range of difference particularly the fallen Link timeline. Every timeline has its avatar of Zelda and Link.

She has great powers and abilities

Princess Zelda has many magical and intellectual abilities which make her very useful in the series. These powers typically include mind-reading, teleportation and the ability to create or break barriers among others. In Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Zelda has visionary visions and has the power of removing barriers as they escape Ganon’s Castle. Likewise, in the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Zelda can connect with light spirits. In Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Zelda own the bodies of Phantoms which allows Link to solve different puzzles. These powers even let her help Link many times.

She Didn't Appear in Every Legend of Zelda Game

Princess Zelda is always an important character in The Legend of Zelda series. However, there are a few games in which she didn’t appear. For instance, Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening fails to feature the Princess rather focused on Link’s mission to get off Koholint Island where he was for the moment breached.

Her Name Was Inspired by Zelda Fitzgerald

The name of Zelda seems to be taken from a fairytale book. It’s a rare name which sounds bold and courageous. According to Shigeru Miyamoto, the name is inspired by the writer and socialite, Zelda Fitzgerald. Miyamoto liked this name and thought it perfectly fit for the princess. Zelda Fitzgerald was popular for her beauty and liveliness and belonged to a high standing family.

She has a Gift for Music

Similar to Link, Princess Zelda was fond of playing a wide range of instruments. In Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the princess shows her skills for playing stringed instruments. During Hyrule Combatants, the princess is also perceived as a proficient player who was able to exert a variety of batons comprising the Wind Waker. In Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, she handover the Spirit Flute to Link which has been passed down by her descendants showing her skills for playing various stringed and wind instruments.

She Has Perhaps Never Saw Her Mother

The Imperial Family of Hyrule is the presiding household of The Legend of Zelda world. The family primarily includes the King of Hyrule and a Princess of Hyrule. The King of Hyrule is the major character throughout the series. In The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, he remained in underwater Hyrule waiting for the hero to save the world from Ganondorf. Also, he guides Link on his mission and discloses Tetra as Princess Zelda. In the entire series, very little is mentioned about Zelda’s mother who is the Queen of Hyrule. She appeared for a short time in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which discovered that she passed away suddenly when Zelda was only six years old. Other than this, we didn’t know anything about the Queen.

Favorite of all times

The late actor Robin Williams was a big fan of Zelda. He named his daughter Zelda after the princess from the game. They even came together in commercials for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

A warrior

Though Zelda is often captured by villains that doesn’t make her a weak character. She is frequently seen playing an important role in boss battles. On several events, she has supported Link by holding Ganon back using her magic and striking antagonists with influential light arrows. In such cases, Link couldn’t win the battle without her.

Voice Acting

The Nintendo’s first ever release including voice acting was Breath of the Wild. In this game, Zelda was voiced by Patricia Summersett, a well-known actress. Though there were three inexplicable Zelda games on the Philips CD-i in the mid-'90s which had full voice acting. We always look forward to your input.
