The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild provides an interesting gameplay packed with a lot of adventure. It emphasizes freedom and survival in ways that are unique to all the other games.  Breath of the Wild was released as part of the Legend of Zelda series on March 3rd, 2017. The story kicks off with Link (story’s protagonist) who is guided by a mysterious voice after a slumber period of 100 years to defeat Ganon and to eventually save the Hyrule Kingdom from his seizure. Similar to the original Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild presents an open-world for the player to play and explore at their own pace. Different items such as armor, weapons, and food etc. are available to increase your performance and gameplay. There are different waypoints scattered around the game for the players.

Game Graphics

Breath of the Wild features a detailed physics engine with high-end graphics and sound system. The game was to release in 2015 as a Wii exclusive but due to a few technical issues with the physics engine, the release date was revised. Breath of the Wild has received a mixed set of reviews for its open-ended gameplay. The open-world design presents players with a lot of opportunities to explore and experiment and is taken positively by the audience.   It has won several awards with many critics acclaiming it to be one of the greatest games of all times. Apart from rewards, the game also broke sale records in different parts of the world with more than 6 million copies sold on Switch.

Gameplay

Breath of the Wild features an open world twelve times greater than the overworld in Twilight Princess. It does not focus on the entrances and exits areas. Just like the original Legend of Zelda, the player starts off with a few guidelines. This means you are free to explore the surroundings at your own pace as well as to approach problems in different ways instead of finding a prescribed solution. Playing through your character Link, you get to control the kingdom with different actions such as climbing, swimming, runnings, and gliding with a paraglider. Unlike the previous Zelda games version, you collect items from your environments such as bows, shields and melee weapons. However, you need to be on a continuous lookout for these items as they break over time. Different items can be used in multiple ways. For example, wooden weapons and armors are used to light fires and collect incoming enemy arrows and shields. You can also collect different food and material types by hunting animals, picking wild fruits from trees and searching from the food items of defeated enemies. Cooking and eating these food materials will replenish your health and stamina. It also offers status bonuses such as resistance against weather and better strength to explore further. You can also mark waypoints on a map to take pictures. Use kinetic energy early in the game to temporarily bring objects to a halt for a certain time. You can lock onto targets to improve attacks on the enemy. Different button combinations offer advanced and defensive moves. You can also fight enemies by rolling boulders off the cliffs in enemy camps.

Activating Towers

Activation of towers and shrines adds to the surrounding territory to your map. However, the location name is not exactly known until explored. Shrines have replaced the traditional dungeons in the series to feature small challenges such as puzzles and battles against the robotic opponents.  Clearing the shrines also help to earn spirit orbs which can be sold to strengthen your health or stamina. You will also encounter travelers and hikers offering side-quests, conversation, and hints.

Dynamic Weather Conditions

The game features a dynamic weather and changes on a regular basis. Colder environments reduce health status unless the player wears a warm clothing or eat a certain food. However, you can alter unpleasant weather conditions by throwing metal objects at enemies to attract lightning strikes and thunderstorms.   Different small puzzles are widespread across Hyrule in order to reveal the Koroks hiding place. This helps to solve and earn the koroks seeds as well as trade and expand weapon inventory size, shields and bows.

The Master Sword

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is incomplete without the famous Master Sword. The master sword is unique to other items in various ways. For example, it does not break like the other weapons in the game. However, it does lose energy and requires a recharge time of 10 minutes to starts functioning again. You will get a notification once the sword is usable and recharged. The sword is helpful in fighting Ganon, game’s main antagonist.

Location of Master Sword in Zelda: Breath of the Wild

You need to find the master sword as it is hidden and is not pre-included in the inventory. It is however accessible and can be found after making some effort. You can search for the Master Sword location within the Korok Forest as part of Northern Woodlands region. You need to travel to the Lost Woods which is a mysterious place. When traversing the Lost Woods, you have to be careful as taking one wrong turn can reset your progress. After you reach the Korok Forest, make sure to build a fast travel point at the Keo Ruug Shrine nearby so you no longer need to face Lost Woods again. Master Sword lies at a short distance to the front left of the Great Deku Tree. It’s placed in an upright position ready for you to grab. However, there is one requirement before you grab Master Sword.

What To Do to Get The Master Sword?

Just like all things in life come with hard work and price, same goes for Master Sword. To capture Master Sword, you will need to obtain 13 full heart containers. The temporary hearts will not work. This means that you require 10 heart containers to add to the three hearts you get at the start of the game. Gain the hearts by fighting Divine Beasts and by trading in Spirit Orbs you get from Shrines around Hyrule. You can also trade Stamina Vessels for Heart Containers or vice versa. Pulling the Sword from the ground requires a lot of strength so make sure you have a full health status to own the Magical Master Sword.

What else about the Master Sword?

The Sword comes with the following description: "The legendary sword that seals the darkness. Its blade gleams with a sacred luster that can oppose the Calamity. Only a hero chosen by the sword itself may wield it." Master Sword has a strength of 30 swords and proves as an excellent defense against Calamities and major enemies including Ganon at the game’s end. You can always use it on regular enemies, but this will make drain its energy to make it unusable for short periods of time mostly 5 to 10 minutes. On the contrary, the sword does not break which makes it very handy in times of need. After you grab Master Sword, you can pair it with the Hylian Shield to complete the classic Zelda garb.
