Damascus steel is known the world over for their distinct pattern blades and amazing strength. This blade here comes in a sheeps foot style in a Twist pattern. It was forged with 176 blade layers and tempered at around 54 to 55. The repeated process of hammering and heating billets together, then stretching and forge welding it back into itself. This process creates all sorts of lovely designs depending on the Artisan. File work adorns the spine and runs all the down to the end of the handle. The interior wall of the brass frame and liner lock also features custom file work. All four bolsters are made from Damascus steel as well to match the blade and the center handle slabs are horn. The horn has been smoothed and polished. In the middle on each side is a decorative mosaic pin. The sheath that is included is a hand sewn and made of real leather. A snap closure adorns the front with a belt loop on the back and to top it all there is a stag pictured on the front with a lovely tooled basket weave design.
