Damascus steel is a combination of 15N20 and 1095 high carbon which is why the blade has its classic two-toned wavy patterning. Another useful thing about Damascus steel is that it is naturally sharp. The handle is a 6.45-inch length of staghorn with a brass guard and finger hold intersecting the horn. The hand-cut grooves in the brass are a lovely finishing touch of intricate detail to such a gorgeous knife.
