Just buying beautiful swords isn’t enough. You have to own it properly and show it off nicely. So, here we’ll guide you to the right way of displaying your swords.
Collecting unique, rare and beautiful swords is fun. The hunt of locating them is mostly the real fun.
Now, what should you know before you go and display your swords?
The value, the age and the cultural influences are some of the factors that need to be determined before you put them on display. If the swords are of historical significance and are ancient, then you shouldn’t be exposing it to the air too much. This will reduce its value. Next, you need to respect the cultural influence of the sword. Let’s take a katana for example. If you display it with the blade facing down, then that is a taboo in the world of Japanese katana. Standing sword displays are quite easy to use. But mountable displays are an entirely different thing. It can turn out tricky if you try to mount a sword to a wall display rack. This leads us to believe that the quality of a display case is just as important. The better the quality is, you have better choices for quality swords. Here are some simple steps you can follow to mount your sword:
- Find a stud in the wall
- Mark the location of it
- Drill holes
- Insert the screw anchor to the stud. Next, insert the screw to the anchor to support the display.
- Hang your display to the mounting screws
- Place the sword
- Enjoy the view!
