Candles were so important to medieval people that often servants and workers were paid in candles for at least part of their payment. Candles were nearly used by everyone. Churches were exceptionally good customers for candle stick makers. During the night with no natural sunlight it would be hard to see so candles would be stuck onto candle holders so you could move about. The candle holder you see here is made from forged iron steel with a spiral design. One solid piece was used to create the stick, spiral, and handle. This piece is great as a prop for creating the perfect medieval atmosphere.
