There are two steel clips to allow you to attach the hilt cup to your sword. The piece comes oiled to protect and prevent rusting. Mild steel rivets hold the piece together in a basket style shape. The Medieval Basket Mild Steel Hilt Cup slides over the hilt and hooks to the guard giving you added protection for your hands.
