The Japanese Iron Fan, or war fan, is used in one of the most elegant martial arts, Tessen-Jutsu. This Iron Fan sports mirror polished stainless steel guards, supporting a nylon red fan. Flicking the fan open produces a powerful popping sound, deploying the fan and guards. The red nylon fan shows off a white dragon print and yin-yang. Originally, it was adopted to help cool warriors on a historic battlefield, but inconspicuously used as a weapon. It has also been popular to write on the fan to display a message.
