As a certified Demon Slayer, main protagonist Tanjiro Kamado carries a standard Nichirin katana; a sword composed of sun-catching metal that makes it capable of slaying the demons running ramped and killing human kind. Defeating demons is no easy task, though, and his sword was damaged or broken a total of 3 times as a result. After the events in Swordsmith Village, Tanjiro happens upon a more powerful Nichirin katana and decides to make it his own, polishing it up and replacing the hand guard with the flame-like one used by his late mentor Kyojuro Rengoku. With this new and improved sword combined with his incredible abilities, Tanjiro is able to perform powerful techniques that has saved him and his friends on multiple occasions.

This full-size replica may be made of foam, but it is certainly no children’s toy. This Black Nichirin sword is composed of polyurethane foam and features a 10 mm fiberglass core. Polyurethane foam is both durable and flexible, and the added fiberglass core creates a strong sword that can be used for cosplay as well as kicking bad guy butt in mock battle. The base of the blade is a matte black and has a painted grey flame-like design along the top. The handle is molded to resemble a traditional Japanese wrapping in black cloth, with an underlayer of red peeking through the top half below the silver painted pommel. An orange painted flame hand guard comes detached for easy assembly. A mock habaki and fuchi separates the blade from the handle, with a ridge in between the two to nest the hand guard.
