The Celtic Tree of Life symbolizes the Druid belief in the connection between heaven and earth. Trees were a connection to the world of the spirits and the ancestors, living entities, and doorways into other worlds. The Tree of Life, to the Celts, symbolized strength, a long life, and wisdom. The Celts also believed that they actually came from trees, and considered them magical, living beings. The front and back cover has an embossed image of the Tree of Life with Celtic knots and weaves. The on this journal has been dyed a vibrant green. Not only is the tree depicted but the Rivers of Wisdom are too. Inside you will find paper that is handmade 'khadda paper', made from recycled cotton also known as 'kaddi' or 'khaddi' that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. They are handmade and don't contain any chemicals as we only use unbleached cotton. There are 260 pages counting the front and back. The pages are held together with black sting which offers a unique design X design on the outside. When you are finish, simply close the flap and lock your thoughts up tightly inside with the antiqued closure.
