Damascus steel is well sought after not only because of the gorgeous design it adds to the blade, but also for its ability to maintain a keen edge. The blade of this dagger is hand forged from Damascus steel. 400-520 layers heated and folded over and over give the blade that striking wave-like appearance. The 1095/15N20 steel we use has a Rockwell Hardness rating of 58-60. The pommel and guard are also made from Damascus, and carry the same wave pattern as the blade. The wooden handle has been made into a beautiful basket weave design, complimented well by the brass and red wood inserts. Included with this exquisite dagger is a hand-tooled leather sheath that has been stained a rick red-brown.
