This canteen is named after the infamous Stonewall Jackson a General for the Confederate Army that performed well on many campaigns. The outer material that covers this canteen is a gray woolen, or satinette, cloth that has been hand sewn. The actual canteen is made of stainless steel with a spout. The spout has a rolled lip with a soldered seam. Attached by a steel link chain is a cork stopper to keep all the contents from spilling out. A cotton drilling strap is fed through three metal sling loops around the canteen in a way to keep it upright while carrying it. Canteens were standard issue and a very important piece of equipment for any and all soldiers.
