Forged Carbon Steel

Carbon steel is a popular material used for various functional tools. The carbon steel is inexpensive, available in various grades. The steel can be heat-treated that helps in the improvement of strength, ductility, and machinability. The main grades of carbon steel are low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, high carbon steel, and very high carbon steel. Forged carbon steel is hardened with the help of heat treatment, which increases the yield and impacts the strength along with the wear resistance. Forged carbon steel swords and blades are hammered during the forging process that eliminates most of the microscopic crystalline flaws, like air bubbles and fissures. These swords are functional and can be used in reenactments, stage shows, etc. For forged carbon steel medieval or historical swords, these can be used for collections as well.
