Wicked Weaver
I ordered on the 17th and received it on the 22nd with a weekend intervening. No complaints there.
The knife:
This is advertised as heavy duty. They could have left off “duty” and just said heavy. At 10 1/2 oz., this knife is a weapon before it is opened. The glass breaker sticks out 1/2” and with the inertia of over a half a pound of knife, I have no doubt it will crack whatever it comes in contact with. It is monolithic. The action is slick, both in and out. I’ve never owned an OTF before and wanted a decent sized blade. 3 3/4” is long enough not to be confused with those 2” manicure knives. The edge will shave hair if you work at it a little. I like the way the back is enclosed. It gives it a finished look. The basket weave is just a photo, but there are ridges fore and aft to increase the grip. There are also ridges in a contour on the opposite side of the slide action which greatly aids retraction. Both sides are also beveled to give the hulk a slimmer feel. The thickness of the handle is 9/32, but measured at the edge of the bevels, it is 7/32.
This knife will get you to thinking about how to deal with carrying it. You could take off the clip and glass breaker and carry it in your front pocket if you want to risk arrest for lewd and lascivious behavior. Carry it clipped inside your pocket until it tears your pocket off. Actually, the included sheath is built to handle this beast. The belt loop is not at the top of the sheath as you would expect, but on the bottom half. This gives the knife a high carry stance and with the quick release dual side release buckle, this might be the way to go. I usually toss the free sheath, but this one may be a keeper.
Would I recommend this knife? In a heartbeat.
